Job description

Globe Pequot Publishing Group is currently accepting applications from ambitious students interested in learning more about a career in publishing with our company's editorial department, located in Essex, CT, for our Fall 2026 Editorial Internship.

Globe Pequot is seeking an editorial intern with a strong desire to learn along with a professional drive. The ideal candidate is eager to step in and help with any task or assignment, no matter how big or small, and is detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Students should also have strong research skills and the ability to prioritize in a busy environment and should be team players. Students in all majors will be considered.

Candidates must be able to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement to be accepted into this unpaid internship position.

Candidates should have a passionate interest in the publishing industry; a specific passion for nonfiction is preferred. This internship offers a flexible schedule, but candidates must know their semester's schedule when applying.

Because Globe Pequot is committed to the growth of tomorrow's publishing leaders, students selected as interns are expected to gain practical and valuable experience not only in their hired department, but with regard to the publishing industry as a whole. During their internship, accepted students will get experience with other departments, including marketing and production, in an effort to broaden their view of how publishing a book works throughout the company.

The responsibilities of this editorial intern will include a variety of tasks that will provide excellent exposure to the business of book publishing from proposal to publication. Tasks will include imprint-specific tasks as assigned, as well as:

  • Writing proposal reviews
  • Properly formatting manuscripts and assessing art logs
  • Reviewing cover and page proofs
  • Researching new book ideas and finding authors
  • Attending book proposal and departmental meetings
