About CSUDH Toro Auxiliary Partners
The California State University, Dominguez Hills Toro Auxiliary Partners was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of the University to provide services and develop and enhance programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. CSU Dominguez Hills is a highly diverse, metropolitan university primarily serving the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Established in 1960, CSU Dominguez Hills is one of the 23 campuses that comprise the California State University system.
About the Position
CISE Student Assistants are an integral part of our team. They provide CISE Team Members with different types of support to help us fulfill our mission of serving K-12 students, CSUDH students, and the community at large.
Employment at Toro Auxiliary Partners is on an at-will basis and can be terminated by either the employee or Toro Auxiliary Partners at any time, with or without cause or advance notice. Permanent status can neither be obtained nor granted.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $16.90.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome students, families, partners, and guests, providing a friendly and professional first point of contact.
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and perform general office duties, including data entry and basic research.
  • Support recruitment efforts by assisting with the development of social media campaigns and recruitment materials, and by delivering brief presentations during classroom visits or recruitment fairs.
  • Assist with special events by preparing sign-in sheets, tracking attendance, sending reminders, managing RSVPs, and conducting follow-up communications.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate program data and databases.
  • Support coordinators with information session logistics and interview scheduling.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to ongoing program planning and coordination.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator and Program Specialist with greeting students, taking attendance, reviewing program participation waivers, and coordinating meal pickup and setup for program participants.
  • Order, track, and organize program materials, ensuring accurate inventory management and an organized storage system.
  • Support all STEAM Programming including Saturday STEAM Day programming by communicating with lead instructors regarding event reminders, being present during Saturday events to take attendance, escort students to learning spaces, and coordinating lunch pickup and setup.

Education and/or Experience
  • Must be a current California State University Dominguez Hills student.
  • Customer service experience preferred

Skills
  • Proficiency with Zoom
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Effective communicator (verbal, written)

Other:
  • Seeking a highly motivated team player who is ready to share ideas and is enthusiastic about serving others
  • Be available to work 15-20 hours per week (have the ability to be flexible for special events)

Work Environment
