Description
Oversee safety of swimming pool patrons.
Principal Duties
  1. Monitor patrons at swimming pool and work to prevent accidents by enforcing all pool rules and regulations.
  2. Respond quickly to all emergency situations and administer first aid and CPR to accident victims as necessary.
  3. Communicate to other lifeguards the need for assistance and equipment.
  4. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facilities.
  5. Participate in routine maintenance of the facilities.
  6. Attend required training sessions.
  7. Provide assistance for special events and programs.
  8. Maintain documentation as it relates to employment, guests and facilities.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
Sixteen (16) years of age or older. Ability to acquire and maintain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification that includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer, as well as first aid, and AED within 60 days of employment20/20 vision, corrected or uncorrected. Hearing within the normal range, corrected or uncorrected. Available to work weekends, holidays and evenings. Available to work until the pool closes at the end of the summer. Maintain fitness and skill proficiency applicable with the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.

Experience as a Lifeguard

Drug Screening: Due to the safety and/or security sensitive nature of this position, individuals shall be subject to pre-employment or pre-placement drug and/or controlled substance testing as outlined in City policy.
