Customer Service Representative -Full-Time | Onsite - St. Louis, MO

Service Metal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Customer Service team. The Customer Service Representative plays a critical part in delivering exceptional after-order support and ensuring seamless customer experience across all channels.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Customer Service Representative provides exceptional after-order support for customers. This role ensures accurate order processing, resolves shipping and product issues, manages documentation requests, and maintains strong communication between customers, warehouses, and internal teams.

This is a full-time, onsite position based at our Maryland Heights Corporate Headquarters and reports directly to the Customer Service Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide prompt, professional after-order support to customers.
  • Answer and direct incoming company phone calls in a polite and efficient manner.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, including shortages, incorrect items, and carrier-related issues.
  • Process return requests and manage issues with orders in transit.
  • Coordinate Outside Processing by communicating with Warehouse Managers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Assist customers with document requests and manage documentation queues.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure order accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in cross-training to support all customer service functions and maintain team coverage.
  • Promote a solution-focused approach that enhances the overall customer experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Comfortable working with ERP/order entry systems (experience preferred).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily office-based environment.
  • Regular use of computer and phone systems throughout the workday.
