Atlas Roofing Corporation is made up of 4 divisions: Roof and Wall Insulation, Shingles & Underlayments, Web Technologies, and Molded Products.
Atlas Roof & Wall Insulation, a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation, is seeking an Architectural Sales Manager for the Northeast.
The Architectural Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring that Atlas EnergyShield products are familiar to the design and specification communities, that their value versus competing materials is clear and that they are a preferred option for use in designs and specifications in their assigned region Performance in the role is gauged in terms of the number and type of specifications that we gain, the number and type of relationships that we build with architectural firms, specification writers, major building envelope consulting (BEC) firms in key market sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, data storage, logistics, multi-family residential, etc., and the sales increases that result from the development of these areas of the business.
Primary Responsibilities
Architect, Designer & Spec Writer Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with architects, designers, and spec writers in your territory
  • Use internal leads, your own outreach, and input from Regional Managers to connect with firms that need education and information on Building Envelope Science, continuous insulation, energy codes, building codes and EnergyShield.
  • Present EnergyShield solutions for inclusion across applicable sections (CI, WRB, interior, where applicable)
  • Drive product specifications through targeted education and clear product positioning
  • Provide code guidance, assembly recommendations, and performance comparisons
  • Help designers work through concerns around foam plastics and system performance

Territory Engagement
  • Spend a defined percentage (dependent on home base) of time in key target cities within the assigned territory outside the home market
  • Deliver AIA presentations and lunch & learns at firms that currently specify CI in walls or will be.
  • Stay active in the field with regular in-person meetings, presentations, CSI/AIA, IIBEC, etc.
  • Work closely with sales and regional teams to stay aligned on priorities

Project Development & Tracking (ConstructConnect / Salesforce)
  • Identify and develop CI project opportunities, driving product inclusion from early design through bid
  • Look for existing Polyiso opportunities where Atlas is not yet specified and work to get in
  • Go after competitively specified products (XPS, Mineral Wool) and position EnergyShield as an option
  • Keep pipeline activity current and organized in CRM tool

Professional Development
  • Stay up to speed on codes, standards, and industry trends
  • Be the go-to technical resource for your territory

Experience
  • Positions involving sales to designers, specifiers and consultants
  • Estimated travel is 50-75%
  • Location: Northeast area, or near to sales major markets

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Organization - Must have sound organizational skills, be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Communication - Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Job Knowledge - Be knowledgeable of building envelope composition and design, and of building codes as they relate to EnergyShield products
  • Customer Knowledge - be familiar with the major designers, specifiers and consultants regionally, preferably from recent past contact in a product sales or consulting context
  • Customer Knowledge - be familiar with the distribution channel players for builders in each market, preferably from first-hand experience in sales positions
  • Follow Through - Fulfills the requirements of the position as described. Follows through on completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Anticipates what needs to be done and proceeds with minimal direction in a timely manner.
  • Problem Solving - Ability to think through issues and develop solutions in a timely manner. Sound troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Has the ability to work under pressure with deadlines.
  • Language - Must be able to speak fluent English.
  • Computer literate: ability to effectively utilize Word, Excel, Email, and PowerPoint
  • Capable of working with online lead development systems
  • Strong analytical and systems skills
