Job description

The Assistant Project Manager I (APM-I) supports project planning and execution by coordinating tasks, communicating with teams, and tracking progress. This role exercises independent judgment with guidance from mentors and contributes to both short- and long-term planning. The APM-I also helps monitor safety and quality on assigned projects.

Primary Responsibilities Assist with daily coordination of project activities and tasks. Help implement and monitor project safety and quality standards. Participate in field visits and site observations.

Support estimating activities by gathering information and assisting with scope reviews. Communicate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors. Use critical thinking and problem-solving to support project goals.

Maintain consistent attendance and contribute to team meetings and discussions. Retain and apply relevant project information to support decision-making. Support communication and coordination with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, compliance with project specs, and resolution of field issues.

Assist with organizing, maintaining, and distributing project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change orders. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 1–3 years of relevant project support or coordination experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project-related software. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Comfortable using technology for reporting, communication, and documentation (e.g., Microsoft Office, Procore, or similar platforms). OSHA 30 certification preferred.
