Job description

OVERVIEW

JOB TITLE: CSDS Faculty Support

LOCATION: St. Paul Campus

PAY RATE: $16.50

JOB SUMMARY

CSDS faculty are hiring qualified and interested undergraduate students to help support their teaching and/or research efforts. The specific nature of each position, whether primarily teaching- or research-oriented, will be determined by the CSDS faculty member who supervises the student.

QUALIFICATIONS
    • Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with the faculty member they plan to work with before applying.
    • All applicants must be undergraduate students, in good standing, at the University of St. Thomas.
    • Students who work with Computer Science faculty members will have, at minimum, successfully completed CISC 130/131. The successful completion of additional CISC coursework may also be required, depending on the specific requirements of the supervising faculty member.
    • Well-qualified students will be independent, self-directed, and strong problem-solvers.
    • While successful applicants are not required to major in Computer Science, an active interest in computer science is important to this position.
    • Students who work with Data Science faculty members will have, at minimum, successfully completed DASC 120. The successful completion of additional DASC coursework may also be required, depending on the specific requirements of the supervising faculty member. While successful applicants are not required to major in Data Science, an active interest in data science or applied statistics is important to this position.
