Job Summary
We are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team! As a Substance Abuse Counselor on the team, you will be handling a substance abuse treatment group sessions.  Clients looking to you for treatment and help to overcome a wide variety of addiction issues. Your role will be to support and uplift your clients, and assisting with client learning about, creating and implementing treatment options, along with identifying core issues that could be contributing to their abuse. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has excellent communication skills, and has experience working with people struggling with addiction and abuse. 

Responsibilities 
  • Conducts evening and weekend substance abuse education and awareness  group sessions
  • Ability to handle, professionally, stressful situations and interact with others.
  • Other related duties as determined by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Must have current ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD status as an addiction counselor  approval through the Professional Board of Counselors & Therapist State of Maryland.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong compassionate outlook, with an upbeat and positive personality
  • Experience working with substance abuse desired
