JOB SUMMARY
As a restaurant hostess/host of Crystal Mountain you have the most control over the flow of the restaurant. You are a key piece in the restaurant operation and direct the flow of service, working with the manager, the servers, and the kitchen on timing seatings to provide the best possible guest experience. You will greet guests with a smile as they enter and show them to their table, engaging with guests to ensure their meal is as good as it should be. To do well in this role you should be comfortable standing for long periods and keeping order over a very busy shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Greet guests promptly in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner

  • Manage waitlists using designated systems

  • Provide accurate wait time estimates and maintain communication with waiting guests

  • Escort guests to tables and present menus in accordance with service standards

  • Maintain awareness of table availability, server sections, and pacing of service

  • Communicate effectively with management, servers, and support staff regarding seating flow

  • Adjust seating plans to optimize guest experience and operational efficiency

  • Handle inquiries regarding waitlist, hours, and menu offerings

  • Assist servers with set up and preopening work

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area

  • Support service team as needed during peak periods

  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must ski or snowboard at an intermediate level

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment

  • A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff

  • Does high quality work with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS-
  • This position is required to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.

  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
