Crystal Cabinet Works is seeking an Edge Bander Operator to join our team in Princeton, MN!

We sell our fine cabinetry through independent kitchen and bath dealers throughout the USA and Canada. Schedule and Pay:
2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:15 AM ; Friday/Saturday OT hours as needed

Job Summary:
The Edge Bander is responsible for setting up, maintaining, programming and operating the edge banding machines as well as assuring edge banding meets specifications.
Job Duties:
  • Sets up and starts edge bander machine loading with appropriate edge banding, filling glue pots, adjusting temperature, tape height and guides as needed.
  • Change the tape as needed.
  • Feeds parts into edge bander and monitors for quality.
  • Changes cutting/machining inserts and makes final adjustments.
  • Inspects edge banding to assure it meets specifications and corrects problems or prepares green slips for rework.
  • Unloads parts and places in appropriate job cart.
  • Notifies receiving/inventory when in need of more supplies.
  • Cuts, trims, files, tapes edge banding manually as needed.
  • Receives direction from the supervisor and notifies the supervisor when more work is needed.
  • Maintains the work area, machinery, and tools in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
  • Follows all safety procedures, rules and guidelines as well as notifies the supervisor of any existing or potential safety issues.
  • Removes parts manually and puts them on carts inspecting for quality or program errors.
  • Adjusts machines as needed for all program changes.
  • Prioritizes hot jobs as required.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance for cleaning, greasing, clearing glue deposits and maintaining inventory.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the various wood species and differentiate between them.
  • Makes fundamental mathematical calculations and reads measurement devices, i.e., tape measurement, etc.
  • Program and make own adjustments as needed.
  • Understand PUR GLUE/EVA/Hot air and all processes as well as set and adjust accordingly.
  • Fills in other areas as needed.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and understand how the parts need to be taped.
