Job description

Experienced Startup CFO Co-founder W/access to capital

Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a highly entrepreneurial CFO with real startup fundraising experience, strong financial leadership skills, and direct access to capital networks. This is not a traditional corporate finance role. We are looking for someone who understands how technology-driven businesses are built, financed, and scaled — particularly within areas such as fintech, payments, crypto infrastructure, marketplace businesses, gaming, gambling, or high-growth consumer platforms. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who has personally raised capital and knows how to actively drive fundraising conversations. We are not looking for someone who simply participated in meetings while others raised money.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has directly led fundraising efforts
  • Has existing investor relationships and access to capital networks
  • Is comfortable initiating conversations and creating opportunities
  • Understands early-stage fundraising and startup finance
  • Can help strategically position the company with investors and partners
  • Is highly proactive, resourceful, and execution-oriented
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead fundraising strategy and investor outreach efforts
  • Build relationships with venture capital, private equity, strategic investors, family offices, and fintech or crypto-focused funds
  • Help shape long-term financial strategy and company structure
  • Work closely with leadership on growth planning, capital allocation, and scaling strategy
  • Support future token, fintech, payments, rewards, or marketplace-related initiatives
  • Help evaluate partnership opportunities, acquisitions, and strategic financing structures
  • Assist in preparing investor materials, financial projections, and fundraising narratives
  • Operate as a strategic business partner during a critical early-stage growth phase
What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated success raising capital for startups or high-growth companies
  • Existing relationships within venture capital, private equity, fintech, crypto, gaming, gambling, or strategic investor ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of startup finance, growth strategy, and scaling businesses
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong execution ability
  • Comfortable operating inside fast-moving, high-risk startup environments
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining highly execution-oriented
  • Strong understanding of technology-driven business models and platform economics
Strong Plus
  • Experience with crypto, tokenomics, digital assets, or blockchain-related businesses
  • Experience within sports, media, gaming, or gambling industries
  • Experience structuring strategic partnerships or growth financing
  • Experience with fintech, payments, or marketplace infrastructure
  • International fundraising or business development experience
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
  • You are proactive, entrepreneurial, and highly resourceful
  • You are comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for introductions
  • You understand both startup finance and modern technology businesses
  • You are comfortable operating with ambiguity and evolving priorities
  • You have strong judgment and execution ability
  • You are relationship-driven and capable of opening doors independently
  • You understand that early-stage startups require resilience, persistence, and adaptability
Compensation & Structure

This role is currently structured as deferred compensation. This is not unpaid work. Compensation is deferred until funding is secured, after which the role is expected to convert into a normalized salary structure, in addition to meaningful equity ownership and potential long-term token participation. All current team members — including leadership, engineers, designers, and product teams — are currently working under the same structure while the company completes its fundraising process. There is real startup risk, and fundraising timelines are unpredictable. We are looking for someone who understands the realities of early‑stage company building and is excited by the opportunity to help shape and finance a globally ambitious platform from the ground floor.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CFO, startup finance leader, founder, or early‑stage executive within high‑growth technology, fintech, crypto, marketplace, gaming, or consumer‑platform businesses
  • Demonstrated success personally raising capital through venture capital, private equity, strategic investors, family offices, debt financing, or crypto‑related fundraising structures
  • Existing investor relationships and meaningful access to capital networks
  • Strong understanding of startup finance, scaling businesses, financial strategy, forecasting, capital planning, and operational execution
  • Strong understanding of technology‑driven business models including marketplaces, payments, rewards systems, fintech infrastructure, or digital consumer platforms
  • Experience operating inside fast‑moving startup environments with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and limited structure
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining highly execution‑oriented
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and investor presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and accountability
Strong Plus
  • Experience with crypto infrastructure, tokenomics, digital assets, or blockchain‑related businesses
  • Experience within sports, media, gaming, gambling, ecommerce, or creator‑economy businesses
  • Experience structuring strategic partnerships, acquisitions, or growth financing initiatives
  • Strong understanding of payments, wallet infrastructure, or fintech compliance environments
  • Passion for football, sports media, or global fan communities
