The Crypto Risk team's mission is to identify, assess, and mitigate risk across Robinhood Crypto's products, operations, and platforms, protecting customers and the firm as the business scales. We work to deliver an excellent end-customer experience while upholding the safety and soundness of the business, so Robinhood can keep expanding access to crypto responsibly.

As a Crypto Risk Senior Specialist, you will support the execution of RHC's risk management program, partnering closely with Crypto Risk leadership to monitor, assess, and report on risk across the business.

This role is based in our New York, NY, Menlo Park, CA, Westlake, TX & Denver, CO offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
  • Perform initial and ongoing Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across RHC operational processes, identifying control gaps and recommending enhancements.
  • Assess new and existing crypto products, features, and business changes for risk and control impact, and provide input into mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare risk reporting and analysis for governance forums, including committee materials and escalations.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring, refinement, and updates to key risk indicators (KRIs), and develop new KRIs as products, processes, and risk exposures evolve.
  • Manage the issue management lifecycle, from identification and prioritization through remediation tracking and closure, ensuring issues are handled and escalated appropriately.
  • Partner with crypto operations, compliance, engineering, and enterprise risk teams to maintain a consistent view of risk across the organization.
What you bring
  • 4+ years of experience in risk management, financial services, or crypto/fintech operations.
  • Deep understanding of policies and standard methodologies of risk management.
  • Experience developing and monitoring KRIs and performing Risk Control Self-Assessments or comparable risk assessments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present risk findings to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Experience with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools such as LogicGate or similar platforms, and familiarity with risk data management systems.
  • Detail oriented, with a proactive, independent approach to identifying and addressing risk.
Bonus Points
  • Direct experience in the cryptocurrency industry, with familiarity with crypto products, custody, and blockchain fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of US and International regulatory frameworks and expectations.
  • Analytical background with knowledge of SQL, Python, or a BI tool.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job‑related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$136,000 - $160,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$120,000 - $141,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$106,000 - $125,000 USD
