Job description

  • Must be able to report to work on time and work until route completion, there is no definite quitting time and must be able to work overtime when needed (while complying with FMCSA hours of service regulations).
  • Complete deliveries to pre-assigned customers daily. Routes are subject to change.
  • Must be available to assist other drivers or perform additional deliveries when required.
  • Conduct pre/post trip inspections and properly log any defects.
  • Apply proper safety techniques while climbing in/out of box truck and loading/unloading cases of product (with and/or without ramp) from the back of the delivery truck.
  • Down stack load throughout the day utilizing load bar and secure vehicle at all times.
  • Drivers are expected to observe all federal and state traffic laws and drive with caution to avoid causing breakage and shifting merchandise.
  • Verify accurate product is delivered to the appropriate recipient.
  • Verify accurate funds are received at the time of delivery (drivers will not accept cash)
  • Must provide outstanding customer service and maintain professional business relationships with customers.
  • Must be able to read,write and use basic math skills to interpret and calculate changes to invoices.
  • Communicate with dispatch and supervisors to provide delivery status information and if any issues arise.
  • Position will require heavy lifting, carrying cases of product alone and with aid of a hand truck.
  • Position will require sitting, standing, driving, walking, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Drivers will be required to deliver in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by company management.

    • Cannot have more than two (2): moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph)

    • Cannot have a major violation such as: DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years

Company Description

Georgia Crown Distributing Co. is a family owned business, founded by the late Fate D. Leebern in August 1938. The business was named Columbus Wine Company Distributors. It was Columbus Wine Company that unloaded the first rail carload of legal liquor in Columbus, Georgia following the end of Prohibition.

The first generation ended with the death of Fate Leebern in 1946 and the second began under the direction of his son, Donald Leebern, Sr. Following his death in 1957, the third generation began under the direction of his son, Donald M. Leebern, Jr. In September of 1987, the fourth generation, Donald M. Leebern III, joined the company.

Georgia Crown Distributing Co. is a full service beverage distributor doing business in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, selling imported and domestic spirits, wines, beers and specialty products.
