Job description

Come join our team at Georgia Crown Distributing Co. as an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Alabaster Alabama. Georgia Crown is a full-service alcoholic beverage distributor with wholesale operations doing business in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Reading mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Electrical systems-120 volt,277 volt,480 volt
  • PLC's-Basic PLC trouble shooting skills
  • Pneumatics
  • Preventative Maintenance schedules & routines.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, and write)
  • Must be able to complete required written paperwork (purchase requests, PM records, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be 21 years of age with a Hight School Diploma/GED and 2 years Technical School or equivalent OJT with electrical motors, conveyors, ASRS, or mechanical systems.
  • Can operate a scissor and/or boom lift and work at extended heights up to 40 feet.
  • Must be safety minded and promote safety at all times while working.
  • Prior experience preferred in the following areas:
  • Position will work primarily on 2nd shift from approximately 6p.m. -3a.m. Sunday -Thursday.
  • Must be able to be on call to help service/repair machinery as needed to help cover other mechanic while out or on vacation.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to pass background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…).
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record:
  • Cannot have more than two (2): moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph)
  • Cannot have more than one (1): speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years
  • Cannot have a major violation such as: DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years
  • Drug Free Workplace.

Georgia Crown Distributing Co. is a family owned business, founded by the late Fate D. Leebern in August 1938. The business was named Columbus Wine Company Distributors. It was Columbus Wine Company that unloaded the first rail carload of legal liquor in Columbus, Georgia following the end of Prohibition.

The first generation ended with the death of Fate Leebern in 1946 and the second began under the direction of his son, Donald Leebern, Sr. Following his death in 1957, the third generation began under the direction of his son, Donald M. Leebern, Jr. In September of 1987, the fourth generation, Donald M. Leebern III, joined the company.
