Job description

The Sebaus Foundation seeks a passionate, experienced OR Keen-to-learn, Self-driven volunteer Fundraising and Grants Specialist (Houston/Virtual) to manage, strategize and improve our grant writing and donor cultivation. The ideal candidate will research, draft, and submit grant proposals, plan fun Events, manage donor pipelines, and develop fundraising strategies to support youth empowerment programs, requiring strong communication and grant experience.

Position Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)

Position Summary:

The Fundraising and Grants Specialist will play a critical role in developing and executing fundraising strategies to secure financial support. You will be responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals, as well as fostering relationships with potential donors to advance the mission of mentoring and empowering youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Writing & Research: Identify, research, and apply for relevant grants, foundations, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement donor engagement and fundraising campaigns, including individual donor appeals and community partnerships.
  • Proposal Development: Draft, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and case statements.
  • Prospect Research: Build a pipeline of prospective donors (corporations, foundations, individuals).
  • Stewardship: Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, tracking deadlines, and reporting on grant outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write persuasive narratives.
  • Strong research skills to identify new funding sources.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently/remotely.
