The Job
The AssistantManager,Critical Facilities,is responsible forall aspects of data centeroperations and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, systems, and staff,demonstratingan unwaveringcommitment to safety and reliability within the Data Center. Workingwith theCritical Facilities Manager,assistin building a team of Critical Facilities Technicians (CFTs), Engineers,and outside contractors capable of achieving 100% availability. TheAssistant Managerunderstandsandcan train staff on colocation data center environments, including theplanning and layout of power and cabling, customer needs, andremote hands functions.
Responsibilities

• Assistin the management oftheday-to-dayoperation and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
• Builda staff oftechnicians with the necessary skill sets toaccomplishdata center operations that deliver total availability (100% uptime) while minimizing risks for customers.
• Manage power and cooling capacity and monitor environmental conditions within data halls.
• Work shifts to support 24/7 data center operations, have flexibility in work hours to cover other shifts,and support maintenance activities, as needed.
• Resolve all electrical, mechanical,andfireprotectionsystem issues in the data center while minimizing risksand communicatingissues to management and customers.
• Assistin aleadershipcapacity,coordinating data center construction and commissioning,and overseeing the transition from construction to sustainable operations.
• Review results from preventive maintenance inspections and provide guidance on how to address issues found.
• Assume an ownership stake in the ongoing evolution and operation of thefacility'sComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ensure that all staff adhere to company standards for using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Oversee accuracy and completeness of the CMMS, produce operational reports as needed.
• Enforce strict adherence to customer SLAs and change control activities.
• Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and reviewing work handled by outside contractors and vendors.
• In the absence of themanager, assume a leadership role with limited authority.
• Assistwithsite toursfor current and future customersasrequired.
• Managework schedules and assignments.
• Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study, technical school with an emphasis on mission-critical operationsorhigh-performance manufacturing, relevant military operations,or equivalent experience isrequired.
• 3+ years' experience in mission-critical environments,required.
• 1+year(s) ofdirect management of non-exempt shift-based employees,required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Experience in creating and managing a critical infrastructure preventive maintenance program is required.
• Experienceestablishing a new colocation data center or data hall, preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required for interacting with internal employees and leaders, and external contractors and customers.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills are required for understanding and evaluating complex problems, including analyzing a situation, identifying solutions, and selecting the best solution.
• Ability tooperate effectively in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.
• Able to understand and train others on electrical and mechanical systems, as well as other technical aspects of critical systems management.
• Able to read and understand complex drawings, systems, and other documentation.

Travel
Occasional travel between data centers may be required as needed.
Work Environment
This joboperatesin a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, andliftupto 50 pounds.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, onsite position. Shifts may vary according to the site. Provide on-call support and respond to all data center emergencies 24/7, including on-site response outside of scheduled shifts.
