NICU Registered Nurse – Travel RN Assignment in Portland, Oregon

  • Location: Portland, OR 97227
  • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: September 1, 2026
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekend Coverage: Every 3rd weekend, with occasional additional coverage as needed
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Setting: NICU Transport / Mobile ICU for neonates and pediatric patients
Job Requirements
  • Active Oregon RN license or proof of Oregon license application and fingerprinting at submission
  • Washington RN license or Compact RN license required prior to start
  • At least 3 years of RN experience, with recent neonatal and pediatric transport experience
  • Flight and/or mobile transfer experience required for consideration
  • BLS, PALS, and NRP certification required
  • Epic experience required
  • Comfort working alongside an RT partner and EMS teams during ground and air transports
  • Strong skills in neonatal critical care transport, pediatric transport nursing, airway management, and resuscitation
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high-quality transport care for neonates and pediatric patients requiring a higher level of care
  • Support physician-directed transports across Oregon and Southwest Washington
  • Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy and emergency transport partners during ground and air responses
  • Perform advanced transport nursing interventions such as IV placement, intubation support, UVC/UAC care, IO placement, and chest needling as needed
  • Monitor and manage critically ill patients using transport equipment and Epic documentation
  • Deliver exceptional care to infants, children, and adolescents in urgent, high-acuity situations
