Job description

The VP, Credit Risk Review will focus on leveraged lending and corporate credit exposures. This role provides objective assessment and challenge of underwriting, risk ratings, portfolio management practices, and ongoing credit monitoring across a complex leveraged finance portfolio. Client Details Top tier corporate and investment bank. Description Conduct independent reviews of leveraged loan transactions and portfolio exposures to assess overall credit quality and adherence to risk standards. Evaluate underwriting practices, transaction structures, covenant packages, repayment capacity, and key credit risks. Assess the accuracy and appropriateness of internal risk ratings and borrower classifications. Review ongoing portfolio surveillance and monitoring processes to identify deterioration trends and emerging risks. Analyse borrower financial statements, projections, capital structures, liquidity profiles, and debt service capabilities. Prepare detailed review reports summarising findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for management. Challenge credit decisions where appropriate and provide constructive feedback to business and risk partners. Monitor trends within leveraged finance markets, industry sectors, and broader economic conditions that may impact portfolio performance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across credit risk, leveraged finance, portfolio management, and audit functions. Support regulatory examinations and internal governance initiatives as required. Profile Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in leveraged finance, corporate banking, credit risk, credit underwriting, loan review, portfolio management, or related functions. Strong understanding of leveraged loan structures, cash flow lending, acquisition financing, and capital markets transactions. Experience analysing middle market and large corporate borrowers. Solid financial statement analysis and credit modelling capabilities. Knowledge of credit risk frameworks, risk rating methodologies, and portfolio monitoring practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience within an independent credit review, loan review, portfolio risk, regulatory review, or internal audit environment. Exposure to syndicated lending and leveraged buyout transactions. Advanced degree or professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or FRM. Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to leveraged lending and credit risk management. Job Offer $175,000 - $200,000 base salary.
