Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full Time Business Banking Support Specialist,  to work a Hybrid from our City Center office, located in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

The Business Banking Support Specialist provides operational and administrative support to the Business Banking team for SBA, Commercial & Industrial (C&I), and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending relationships. Each position is assigned a primary focus area (loan servicing and post-closing activities or portfolio management and compliance monitoring) while remaining cross-trained to provide flexible support across loan closing and treasury functions as business needs require. The role works under moderate supervision, partnering closely with internal teams, borrowers, and external parties to ensure timely, accurate, and audit-ready administration of the loan portfolio.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a cross-trained specialist supporting loan servicing, portfolio management, loan closing, and cash management functions across the business banking platform, with an assigned primary focus area based on business need.
  • Provides exceptional member service, handling complex business member requests and serving as a key point of contact for issue resolution.
  • Maintains accurate and complete loan files, paper and electronic, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
  • Assists the Vice President of Business & Community Banking with reporting and administrative functions.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves issues to prevent delays, mitigate risk, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Loan Servicing and Post-Closing Focus
  • Performs post-closing servicing and follow-up, including tracking recorded documents, UCC filings, title policies, and clearing documentation exceptions.
  • Handles loan servicing functions, including payment corrections, system maintenance, SBA reporting, and participant loan processing and payouts.
  • Monitors and addresses past due accounts, coordinating with internal partners as needed.
  • Opens and maintains business deposit accounts in support of lending relationships.
  • Portfolio and Compliance Management Focus
  • Oversees routine maintenance and management of the assigned portfolio, including tracking loan maturities, modifications, financial ticklers, covenants, and annual reviews; collects required customer financial information on an ongoing basis and monitors insurance on existing loans.
  • Obtains insurance and UCC renewals as needed.
  • Assists with the annual third-party loan review and may collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure file compliance and completion. 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, working experience, and/or training is required.
  • One to three years of experience working with CRE, C&I, and SBA loan transactions required.
  • Previous experience in cross-selling financial products preferred. 

Targeted Pay Range- $19.90 - $24.62
