Job Title: Credit Officer

Job Description

The Credit Officer evaluates and manages commercial and agricultural credit risk to support a high-quality loan portfolio. This role performs comprehensive financial and cash flow analysis, identifies emerging trends affecting borrowers and industries, and delivers independent assessments of creditworthiness. The Credit Officer exercises sound judgment, collaborates closely with lending teams, and contributes to effective credit structures, risk ratings, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and spread commercial and agricultural financial statements for prospective and existing borrowers, and provide clear recommendations regarding credit viability.
  • Prepare detailed written credit analyses for new loan requests, renewals, modifications, and annual credit reviews.
  • Evaluate industry, business, and management factors to identify trends and assess potential credit risks, with particular emphasis on commercial lending.
  • Monitor borrower performance and financial condition to identify early warning signs of credit deterioration and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Maintain and support loan risk rating methodologies to ensure accurate and consistent assessment of portfolio risk.
  • Collaborate with commercial and agricultural lending teams to structure credit facilities, including recommendations on terms, repayment options, collateral requirements, and pricing considerations.
