Sr Credit Risk Reporting Analyst
Position Summary
Perform credit risk analysis, modeling, and reporting, including Delivered but Not Paid, MtM, and credit risk limits. Develop insights about proprietary portfolio, nature, timing, and size of collateral requirements. Reconcile agreement MTM. Perform credit reviews to approve appropriate credit lines. Ensure agreements/contracts contain appropriate protections against credit exposures. Monitor and implement appropriate security for external entities that do not meet unsecured credit line requirements. Draft credit/security documents for agreements/contracts. Generate reports, including for 10-Q and 10-K filings. Ensure credit risk policy is followed. Develop process improvements for speed and accuracy. Train other analysts.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Support structured deal reviews by evaluating exposure and credit risks of potential deals/contracts, including PPAs, PSAs, Procurement contracts, Environmental contracts, Transmission Agreements, ISDA, EEI, NAEMA, NAESB, etc. Develop strategies to mitigate potential risks. Recommend appropriate security (Parent Guaranty, Letter of Credit, Surety Bond, Cash, etc.) based on financial analysis. Draft credit support/security documents. Train and advise other analysts.
  • Monitor credit agreement MTM versus key thresholds per contract as well as internal & external agency ratings. Proactively identify repayment concerns and collateral posting risks. Perform daily margin calls to external entities that exceed their collateral thresholds per contract. Optimize collateral postings and ensure margin calls are initiated or cured in a timely manner with counterparties.
  • Perform counterparty credit risk analysis using standard industry methods and proprietary credit analysis methods/models. Perform annual creditworthiness reviews to maintain appropriate credit lines, highlight key concerns, and address concerns through financial statement evaluation. Approve credit lines within authority levels. Update views annually and report results to Commercial Operations, Risk Management, etc.
  • Develop insights on portfolio risk positions, market prices, and changes. Review and verify credit agreement database (TriplePoint, CXL Credit) to ensure details are accurate and impact of market conditions on the agreement match with market insights. Coordinate with IT and valuation teams to ensure credit risk report capabilities meet business requirements.
  • Generate credit reports (SIG Downgrade, Top Ten Exposures, Monthly Margin Requirements, Portfolio Ratings, SEC Stress Test, etc.) for senior management.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 years professional credit and collateral risk reporting experience required.
  • Experience in credit requirements of contracts (ISDA, EEI, NAEMA, NAESB, PPA, PSA, etc.).
  • Experience drafting credit support documents (Letters of Credit, Parent Guaranty, Surety Bond, CSAs, etc.).
  • Expert in performing financial statement analysis, credit stress test analysis, and credit score modeling.
  • Experienced in using S&P, Moody's, ECM, SAS, TriplePoint, and other credit related tools.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile data across multiple sources to verify reports are high quality and completed accurately.
  • Experience at an energy utility, merchant energy company, electric/natural gas/renewable company, and/or hedge fund is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated Advanced MS Excel experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Python and VBA.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $84,900.00 to $120,567.00 per year
