Job description

Loan Processing Specialist
Location: flexible within Oklahoma
Hours: M – F (8am to 4:30pm)

Position Summary: The Loan Processing Specialist corresponds with Association staff and external sources to produce accurate loan documents in a timely manner and books and disburses loan funds upon loan closing.
Position Responsibilities:
Loan Documentation
  • Prepares Preliminary and Closing loan documents for Association according to loan type by:
    • Gathering information from internal and external sources
    • Identifying documents to include and exclude
    • Inputting information in the loan origination software
    • Editing documents to set up signature lines for borrowers, document dates and identify disbursement amounts and beneficiary information
    • Packaging new loans, interest rate conversions, additional advances, and renewals of Lines of Credit documents for printing
  • Identifies missing items or information and corresponds with Loan Officers and Loan Servicing Specialists to ensure documents are complete prior to closing
Loan Closing
  • Corresponds with Lending Officers, Title Companies, Abstract Offices, and Closing Agents to coordinate loan closing information such as the title work, fees and logistics of the loan closing
  • Requests corrections on documents received from external sources (closing companies or attorney offices)
Loan Booking and Disbursement
  • Corresponds with Lending Officer to create timeline for loan completion
  • Requests wires and/or checks from Accounting department
  • Books loans in loan origination system
  • Disburses loan funds in Teller, upon Lending Officer approval
Backup
  • Completes work for team members when they are absent
  • Backs up Lending Specialists by posting payments, answering phones and helping customers, as time allows
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in AgBusiness or similar field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of related experience in banking, financial services, legal and title work, and customer service, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • General knowledge of agricultural lending
  • Knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook sufficient to create, update and save basic documents
  • Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information
  • Skill in utilizing time in an efficient and effective manner
  • Skill in applying policies and procedures
  • Skill in processing complex, detailed forms and documents in an accurate and thorough manner
  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences
