Nelnet Business Solutions (NBS) is seeking an Accounting intern. This student filling this position will handle a wide range of financial, accounting, and system-related tasks


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide financial analysis assistance, including month end close and ad hoc requests.
2. Assist with clerical accounting duties, including lockbox, cash deposits or reviewing credit card chargebacks.
3. Assist with implementing a new company wide financial tool.
4. Complete special projects as assigned by management.

5. Assist with accounts receivable and customer billing

6. Provide backup as directed by supervisor and other duties as may be assigned.


EDUCATION:
Working towards a degree in Accounting

EXPERIENCE:
Relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting departments

COMPETENCIES - SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
1. Attention to detail.
2. PC skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
3. Good oral and written communication.
4. Ability to follow directions. Willingness to learn new processes.
5. Knowledge of accounting practice and procedures.
6. Energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
