Wage Range: $12.50-14.00/hour
Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Deputy Secretary of Finance is responsible for effectively and responsibly managing the fiscal resources allocated to the Boards of the Student Government Association as outlined in the most updated version of the Student Government Association bylaws.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the SGA Secretary of Finance in administering the budgets of the Boards of SGA.
  • Sit on the executive committee of two SGA Boards.
  • Oversee the monthly reconciliation of SGA and student organization credit cards in collaboration with the Office of Student Activities professional staff as requested.
  • Provide financial training to student organization members throughout the academic year as needed.
  • Monitor allocated funds of SGA entities and maintain up-to-date records for an audit upon request by a majority vote of the Senate and at the end of the academic year.
  • Attend SGA Finance Team meetings and additional meetings as requested.
  • Maintain three weekly office hours in the Office of Student Activities (BC 108)
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
  • Experience with budget management
  • Strong time management skills and an ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Spreadsheets
  • Must be of sophomore standing or higher at the time at which the position is assumed.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must not be found in violation of any St. Olaf policies.
