Collection Specialist

About the Role / Key Accountabilities:

  • Reporting to the Manager, Credit & /Collections and will be responsible for contacting customers to manage collections (receivables)
  • Responsible for account reconciliation and resolving payment discrepancies
  • Communicating with customers and internal departments using all methods of communication
  • Performing clerical duties as needed
  • Managing all levels of client relations specific to collections and general inquiries, and overall credit management
  • With the use of various software, manage customer database and monitor all account activities, including investigating payment discrepancies
  • Enforce prompt action on overdue accounts and engage in appropriate means of collection activities
  • Coordinate payment information updates and customer account changes as assigned
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • 3- 5 years’ work experience in Collections required
  • Proficient MS Office Suite experience required
  • Post secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Experience within the transportation/ supply chain industry an asset
  • Experience with and with Great Plains and TMW software an asset
  • Pursuit of a CCP designation an asset
