Job description

The Medical Staff Services Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Medical Staff Office (MSO) across multiple Tampa General Hospital sites, including the Main Campus, Kennedy/BHP Emergency Room, Rehabilitation Hospital, USF and Healthplex Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and Behavioral Health. Under the direction of the Manager, Medical Staff Services, this role ensures compliance with hospital bylaws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements by coordinating credentialing activities, facilitating committee support, and managing provider onboarding tasks.
Essential Functions:
  • Conduct QA reviews of credentialing files from the CVO for completeness and compliance.
  • Compile and organize supplemental documentation to support credentialing decisions.
  • Track and monitor provider start dates, reappointment cycles, and expiring records.
  • Prepare agendas, packets, and minutes for Credentials and Medical Executive Committee meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of committee actions and follow-up items.
  • Assist with medical staff event planning and bylaws meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain and update ER call schedules in coordination with medical staff leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with TJC, NCQA, CMS, and hospital bylaws in all MSO activities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for providers regarding credentialing status and documentation needs.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining organized and complete provider files.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field.
  • Associate's degree with three (3) years of Credentialing experience OR Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of credentialing experience
