Position Overview
As an Activity Leader, you'll help create a vibrant community where residents feel connected, valued, and engaged. You'll plan, organize, and lead a variety of social, recreational, physical, creative, and cognitive activities designed around the interests, abilities, and preferences of our residents. You'll work closely with the Activities team and other departments to create a calendar of experiences that gives residents plenty of opportunities to participate and build meaningful connections. From arts and crafts and games to music, celebrations, outings, exercise, and special events, you'll help make each day a little more fun.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
  • Plan and facilitate engaging activities for individuals and groups
  • Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests and abilities
  • Create opportunities for socialization, friendship, and community
  • Lead programs designed to support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being
  • Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and other resident-centered experiences
  • Get to know residents and incorporate their interests, hobbies, and personal histories into programming
  • Help create a welcoming and positive atmosphere throughout the facility
  • Collaborate with staff across departments to support meaningful resident experiences
  • Assist with documenting participation and maintaining activity-related records

Qualifications
Activity Leader Qualifications:
  • Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid New York Driver's License and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors required.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others, create a warm and accepting climate for residents and be able to adapt and modify activities to meet their needs required.
  • Understanding of the rights and needs of residents required.
  • Physical stamina for constant activity required.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
