Job description

Creative Dining Services is looking for an Administrative Assistant at Dordt University. The Administrative Assistant works within the Dining Services Department as the primary clerical and administrative support person to the department, while greeting office visitors in a friendly and helpful manner. Works professionally and cooperatively as a valued member of the dining team, assisting with any administrative aspect of the dining services program.


Core Responsibilities


  • Greets all who enter the administrative offices in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answers the administrative office telephones in a professional manner, assuring that calls are forwarded appropriately
  • In support of the dining services management team, performs general administrative tasks as assigned (typing, filing, copying, faxing, emailing, record keeping, errands, etc.)
  • Perform all administrative tasks related to new employee hiring procedures, such as initial paperwork, screenings, insurance enrollment, and file maintenance, assuring that all required forms are signed, forwarded to the CDS Home Office as needed, and/or placed in the employee file.

The successful candidate will have:

  • High School Degree or equivalent, higher education helpful
  • Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Suite
  • 10-key adding machine and other office equipment
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
  • Experience performing administrative responsibilities preferred
