Through dynamic digital storytelling, the clubs create engaging content that brings fans closer to the players, matchday atmosphere, and the culture surrounding soccer in Pittsburgh.
Position Overview
The Creative Video Intern will assist in producing engaging video content for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Riveters throughout the season. This role is ideal for a creative and motivated student looking to gain hands on experience in sports content production, social media storytelling, and live event coverage within a professional sports environment.
Please note: This internship is unpaid, and candidates must be actively enrolled in a college or university program that allows them to receive academic credit for the internship.
Responsibilities
  • Capture video content during matchdays, training sessions, community events, and club activations
  • Assist in creating short form and long form content for social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Edit video content for digital, promotional, and in stadium use
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to execute creative content ideas and meet deadlines
  • Help maintain a consistent visual and storytelling style aligned with club branding
  • Organize and archive video footage and project files

Qualifications
  • Current college student pursuing a degree in film, media production, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Access to personal video production equipment, including a camera and editing capable computer, is required
  • Eligible to receive college academic credit for the internship
  • Experience filming, editing, and producing video content
  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, Vegas Pro, Avid, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software
  • Ability to work on site during regular office hours, as well as nights, weekends, and matchdays
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, storytelling, and narrative driven editing
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment such as sports, news, or live events is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, professional, and comfortable working around athletes, staff, and fans
