Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Logistics Compliance Analyst - Trade Programs is responsible for the import and export compliance procedures and international trade programs, which include but not limited to supply chain security (C-TPAT, AEO), international trade data integrity (country of origin, classification, ECCN, etc), duty drawback, Free Trade Agreement, reconciliation, etc. This position will support trade operations in responding to the broker requests and determining the HTS, CoO, ECCN, and regulatory requirements. He/ she will ensure compliance with applicable company policies and regulations while ensuring the expeditious flow of international trade.
Essential Job Duties
  • Provide support to brokers and internal requests pertaining to classification, ECCN, valuation, preferential and non-preferential origin, etc.
  • Manage issues under manager supervision related to determination of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Country of Origin, Customs Valuations, ECCN, International Trade Administration's anti-dumping regulated product flows, duty drawback, duty suspension, and other governmental programs driving exemptions of products and purchases.
  • Support compliance with preferential-and non-preferential trade programs and issue certificates as applicable.
  • Support the Customs reconciliation and anti-boycott programs.
  • Audit and maintain data governance in SAP/ product database and applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain import/ export compliance manuals, policies and procedures, SOPs, and trade compliance guidelines.
  • Assist Logistics Compliance manager in researching Customs- and regulatory requirements for new destination markets including classification, import licenses, valuation, documentation, and import- and export restrictions and communicate back to medical device business.
  • Interact with IT and Center of Excellence (COE) to streamline and improve import/ export data for compliance; communicate requirements to IT and assist with testing and solutions implementation.
  • Support the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) implementation and annual validation.
  • Support internal risk assessments. Follow-up with Compliance Improvement Plans.
  • Assist in global and/or regional compliance projects/programs.
  • Develop and generate compliance and service provider performance reports for management.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of operational processes and procedures to improve workflows and process.
  • Assist in defining Intuitive audit guidelines to monitor customer/ order compliance and aid in determining future training/ procedural needs.
  • Provide assistance to company sites, suppliers, and customers in the continuous improvement of their compliance functions.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Knowledgeable of Customs regulations, import and export classification, ECCN, free trade agreement and training skills.
  • Good analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem solving with experience in risk management processes and gap analysis.
  • Proficient at multi-tasking, well organized and reliable for consistent decision making and follow through.
  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver creative and practical solutions to solve complex logistics and impact of current and potential regulatory compliance issues.
  • Ability to manage and drive change.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, and collaboration.
  • Excellent in research and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task and minimal guidance.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong ability to create innovative solutions from existing resources.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must be a team player, amenable to a variety of work projects.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Required Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, international business, finance or similar.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in Trade Compliance / Logistics Operations Compliance in medical devices.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience in SAP S4/ HANA and related transactional and outputs are preferred.
  • Previous customs compliance experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Security Program and duty drawback.
  • Licensed Customs Broker - U.S. or similar professional trade certifications.

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
