Job description

Hands-On Repair Technician (We Train You!)

Daytime Hours • Local Routes • No Nights or Weekends

Are you someone who likes working with your hands and seeing real results at the end of the day? Do you enjoy problem-solving, meeting new people, and doing work you can be proud of?

If you’re looking for a steady, hands-on career (not retail, not restaurant, not a desk job), this could be a great fit for you.

This Job Is For You If You…

  • Like hands-on, detail-oriented work
  • Enjoy fixing things instead of replacing them
  • Want daytime hours and to be home for dinner
  • Prefer working independently (without someone hovering over you)
  • Take pride in doing quality work for customers
  • Want to learn a specialized trade with long-term demand

No experience required - we train the right person.

What You’ll Do

As a Creative Colors International Technician, you’ll provide on-site repair and restoration services for leather, vinyl, plastic, and upholstery surfaces.

Your day may include:

  • Repairing scratches, tears, burns, cuts, and wear on surfaces
  • Visiting customer locations locally (no long-distance travel)
  • Showing customers examples of work and explaining repairs
  • Inspecting surfaces and receiving approval for repair work
  • Completing approved repairs with attention to detail
  • Preparing invoices and documenting completed work
  • Maintaining your tools, materials, and company vehicle
  • Solving customer concerns professionally and respectfully

Every day is different - and every job ends with visible results.

Training & Support

You do not need prior experience in this industry.

We provide:

  • Paid training during your onboarding period
  • A structured apprentice program (minimum 6 weeks)
  • A 1–2 week hands-on technical training class at our corporate training center in Mokena, IL
    • All travel and lodging expenses covered
  • Ongoing field training and support

Schedule & Lifestyle

  • Mostly Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No nights
  • No weekends (except occasional needs to complete a job)
  • Local service routes - you’re home every night

Pay & Growth Opportunity

  • Paid training wage during onboarding
  • Transition to commission-based pay with unlimited income potential
  • Many technicians earn $35,000–$100,000+ annually, depending on effort and skill growth
  • Opportunities for raises, bonuses, and advancement (varies by location)
    • Your income grows as your skills and efficiency grow.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Good customer service skills and a professional attitude
  • Ability to work independently and manage your day
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in different environments and weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and enter/exit vehicles regularly
  • Must not be colorblind
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must pass a drug test, background check, and driving record check

What We Provide

  • Company vehicle
  • Fuel, tools, and materials
  • Uniform allowance
  • Ongoing training and support
