Job Description

The Associate General Manager (AGM) is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational excellence, team performance, and strategic creative client partnership for one of RRD's largest retail clients. The Associate General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to develop and execute key initiatives across client service, operational refinement, team development, and financial management, ensuring a high level of quality and service for the client and the team of 10 division employees.

Responsibilities:

1. Division Leadership and Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a contact and liaison for senior client leadership and day-to-day needs, ensuring comprehensive engagement and managing client expectations and objectives.
  • Foster client relationships, and assist in identifying new opportunities.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for all critical client and project-related issues, ensuring early detection and resolution.
  • Lead and participate in monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc client business review sessions.

2. Operational Excellence and Project Oversight

  • Refine and streamline day-to-day operations and processes across all divisions to maintain high standards of quality and service.
  • Provide strategic operational improvements and facilitate their execution across the agency.
  • Partner with all affiliated internal RRD teams (print, circular, IT, Operations, and production, both onshore and offshore) to oversee projects from initial concept through final fulfillment.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of client business, industry news, and facility procedures, operations, and protocols.

3. Team Management and Development

  • Demonstrate accountability for the team's flawless execution and overall performance.
  • Assistย in staff management duties, including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Inspire the growth and development of all staff across the divisions through talent acquisition, training, and constructive performance feedback.
  • Cultivate a positive team culture and high morale, acting as an advocate for the team and embracing change management.

4. Strategic Oversight

  • Contribute to strategic planning by identifying the "big picture" and reaching beyond initial scope to seek input from multi-discipline sources.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience leading large teams as well as client services/account-focused leadership experience.
  • Extensive business management and leadership experience.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and pivot tables for comprehensive data analysis.
  • Deep understanding of the agency process, workflow, and culture.
  • Deep technical understanding of CMS systems, Adobe Creative Cloud, and various data import tools and methods.
  • Demonstrated experience running data profiles and creating metric reports.

Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $99,100 to $158,500 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future.ย At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD's benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
