General Summary: This position provides detailed retouching, color correction, and delivery of image files within timelines communicated by Photographers, the Content team, and Producers. Working at an advanced level across a broad variety of imagery, this position is responsible for consistently delivering high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations for quality and timeliness. The Photo Retoucher supports both internal and external clients, ranging from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies, working with photography captured by our team as well as client-supplied imagery. As part of a highly skilled retouching team in a fast-paced production environment, this position contributes to the successful delivery of approximately 10,000 images annually while maintaining a focused, collaborative, and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
  • Performs advanced photo retouching, color correction, image manipulation, and file preparation in a high-capacity production environment while maintaining established quality standards.
  • Utilizes Adobe Creative Suite applications, particularly Adobe Photoshop, at an advanced level to produce polished, accurate, and production-ready imagery.
  • Performs image reproduction, color correction, color matching, compositioning, cleanup, and detailed retouching across a broad variety of photographic images.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of RGB and CMYK color spaces, color management, and image reproduction to prepare imagery appropriately for both digital and print applications.
  • Identifies and develops opportunities to improve production efficiency through Photoshop Actions, scripting, AI-assisted tools, and other workflow automation technologies.
  • Manages multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, adhering to established image editing times and production schedules to ensure project deadlines are met within budget.
  • Reviews work carefully for accuracy, quality, consistency, and completeness prior to final delivery.
  • Collaborates closely with Photographers, content team members, Producers/Project Managers, and fellow Retouchers to understand project requirements, resolve image-related challenges, and deliver work that meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Receives and responds professionally to creative direction, feedback, and critical review of work, incorporating feedback as appropriate and demonstrating a willingness to continually learn and develop skills.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve retouching techniques, workflows, quality, and efficiency while offering creative and cost-conscious solutions that support the success of the studio team.
  • Maintains organized image files and follows established workflows, file-naming conventions, color management practices, and delivery requirements.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional photo retouching, image reproduction, or related production experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong working knowledge of both RGB and CMYK color spaces, with the ability to prepare and retouch imagery appropriately for digital and print applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of image retouching, color correction, image reproduction, and preparation of high-quality digital image files.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately within a high-volume, deadline-driven production environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with creative, production, and client-facing teams.
  • Ability to learn, navigate, and perform effectively within complex and structured production systems and workflows.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a professional photography, creative production, agency, prepress, or similar production environment.
  • Experience working with a broad range of image types, client specifications, and brand standards.
  • Working knowledge of color management principles and maintaining color consistency across digital and/or print applications.
  • Experience with Java Script or similar scripting/automation tools.
