Where we are located: Our facility is in Adrian, Michigan. This area is a great location for commuters and residents of the Ann Arbor / Toledo areas. We also have manufacturing facilities located in Kentucky (Hopkinsville), Indiana (Shelbyville), and Mexico (Monterrey).
What the opportunity entails:
This part-time HR Internship is for the fall semester and offers up to 20 hours per week. It is a great opportunity for a student who wants to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources while learning how HR supports people, culture, and business success. In this role, you will work alongside the HR team on meaningful projects, build practical skills, and get exposure to areas such as recruiting, employee engagement, training, compliance, HR technology, and workplace communication. Key responsibilities may include:
  • Learn our HRIS system and become a go-to resource while helping identify ways to improve and optimize the system.

  • Gain experience maintaining employee records in the HR database with accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Help bring employee recognition programs to life and see how engagement efforts can make a positive impact across the workplace.

  • Research HR best practices and contribute ideas for new initiatives, giving you a chance to connect classroom learning with real workplace applications.

  • Build analytical skills by helping generate reports on HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and workforce trends.

  • Support the HR team with day-to-day tasks and special projects that provide broad exposure to how an HR department operates.

  • Develop professional communication skills by building positive working relationships with coworkers and internal customers.

  • Take on additional projects as assigned, creating opportunities to learn, ask questions, and grow your HR knowledge.

What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time.

  • Ability to develop, maintain, and promote strong internal and external relationships.
