What You'll Do
The ELP - Communications Coordinator leads day-to-day communication execution for SpringHill with a focus on social media, copywriting, storytelling, content capture, and brand-aligned messaging. This role helps tell the story of SpringHill in a clear, compelling, and mission-centered way across social media, email, web, print, and other communication channels.
As an Emerging Leader Program role, this position carries meaningful responsibility for both content execution and people leadership. This role leads assigned summer communications staff and collaborates across departments to move communication projects forward.
How You'll Lead
Communications Leadership
o Serve as a key day-to-day communications lead for assigned projects, ensuring content is clear, timely, accurate, and aligned with SpringHill's mission and brand.
o Proactively gather information from departments across the organization and translate it into strong guest-facing communication.
o Coordinate deadlines, drafts, approvals, revisions, and final delivery for assigned communication projects.
Summer Staff and Intern Leadership
o Lead, schedule, coach, and support assigned summer photo/video staff and social media interns.
o Set expectations and provide feedback on content capture, quality, turnaround times, organization, professionalism, and brand standards.
o Create a positive, high-accountability team culture that values creativity, humility, excellence, and service.
Social Media and Digital Content
o Manage day-to-day posting and execution for assigned SpringHill social media channels.
o Lead the planning and coordination of social content during summer camp, retreats, events, recruiting seasons, and other key ministry moments.
o Monitor social media engagement, comments, messages, and trends, escalating questions or concerns when needed.
o Track basic social media performance and recommend adjustments to improve reach, engagement, clarity, and audience connection.
Copywriting and Storytelling
o Write clear, brand-aligned copy and stories for social media, email, web, print, campaigns, and internal communications.
o Edit and proof communication pieces for grammar, tone, clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
o Translate program details into guest-friendly messaging that is simple, warm, and action-oriented.
o Execute assigned pieces of marketing and communication campaigns in alignment with SpringHill's promotional calendar.
Content Capture and Organization
o Coordinate photo, video, and story capture across camp programs, retreats, events, and ministry moments.
o Direct summer content staff toward the highest-priority stories, shots, and moments needed for marketing and communication.
o Maintain organized photo, video, and written content libraries for current and future use.
o Partner with the Marketing Manager to identify content needs for campaigns, fundraising, recruitment, and year-round storytelling.
Brand Stewardship
o Apply SpringHill's brand voice, visual identity, and messaging standards across assigned projects.
o Coach summer staff and internal partners toward consistent tone, quality, formatting, and guest-facing language.

o The Communications Coordinator grows in writing, leadership, creative direction, organizational influence, and ministry leadership throughout the ELP experience.
What We Are Looking For
o Commitment to the mission and ministry philosophy of SpringHill.
o Participation in SpringHill's Emerging Leader Program connected to Wheaton College's Graduate Degree Program.
o Strong writing, editing, storytelling, social media, and basic visual content instincts.
o Ability to lead summer staff and collaborate across departments with clarity, humility, and follow-through.
o Creative eye for content, photography, video, layout, and brand presentation.
o Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines, voices, and priorities at once.
o Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, social scheduling tools, email platforms, website editing, photography, or video preferred.
o Previous camp, ministry, marketing, communications, journalism, leadership, or content creation experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Physical demands include walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting or standing for long periods of time, using a computer and camera equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds. This role may include moving around camp property to capture content during events, programs, and seasonal operations.
