Job description

ABOUT THE JOB

We’re looking for an outstanding Performance Creative Designer who’ll be within our Performance Creative department and who understands what ad creatives move the needle in brands' Paid Social performance.

You’ll plan and execute direct response motion design, video edits and static design for Paid Social channels, working closely with our Paid Media team in Miami and our Performance Creative Director.

ABOUT US - THE SOCIAL SHEPHERD 🐑

We're a Social-first agency helping global brands, household names, and high-growth scale-ups accelerate their business growth.

Our service offering includes Organic Social, Paid Media, Creative, Influencer & Commerce.

We’re a team of 70+ across Miami, New York, and the UK, with big ambitions to continue delivering industry-leading social-first work.

THE ROLE

As a Paid Social Creative Designer at The Social Shepherd, you’ll focus on planning and developing high-performing, direct-response creative for our Paid Social channels. Sitting within our Performance Creative team, you aren’t just coming up with ideas—you are driving creative strategies that encompass statics, motion design, and UGC.

You will act as the creative for key client accounts, partnering closely with our Media Buying and Client Services teams to ensure our work is both world-class and results-driven.

While you'll be highly executional on video edits and graphic design to bring concepts to life, you’ll also work alongside our talented in-house suite of designers, motion designers, and UGC specialists to scale winning formulas. This role will report directly to our Performance Creative Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and evolution of cross-channel paid social creative planning (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.), ensuring every static and motion video serves a clear performance purpose, hits the client acquisition goal, whilst remaining on brand.
  • Be hands-on and executional, jumping into video editing software and graphic design tools to spin up rapid prototypes, test new hooks, or polish assets when agility is key.
  • Utilize tools such as Adobe Suite to create ad creatives to high standards.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with our internal suite of strategists, paid media managers, and UGC specialists, providing clear creative briefs and direction to ensure the vision is flawlessly executed.
  • Collaborate on performance reporting with media buyers, moving beyond vanity metrics to deliver meaningful creative analysis and actionable insights that demonstrate what actually drives conversions.
  • Support the Performance Creative Director on ownership of client performance KPIs, continuously refining creative strategies to meet and exceed scale and efficiency targets.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of experience concepting and producing direct response paid social creative for brands. While agency experience is preferred, you’ll be confident working in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
  • A genuinely paid-first mindset. You don’t just use social media; you understand the psychology of the scroll. You have a deep knowledge of what makes a thumb-stopping static, an engaging motion design piece, or a native-feeling UGC ad.
  • A creative thinker who can back up your ideas with data. You enjoy the challenge of ideating creative variations, hooks, and angles that land culturally and hit specific business KPIs.
  • Executionally proficient. You have the graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Suite, CapCut, Figma) required to execute quick wins, iterate on existing assets, and build templates independently.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple creative pipelines, asset variations, and tight production deadlines seamlessly.
  • High levels of ambition and drive, with a genuine passion for producing best-in-class performance creative that delivers tangible commercial impact for brands.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to seamlessly bridge the gap between analytical media buyers, internal creative specialists, and external clients.

WHY JOIN US

  • We’ve been named Best Large Social Media Agency for the last three years in a row.
  • You’ll be part of a growing team of sharp, curious, and performance-driven individuals.
  • Hybrid working, regular socials, clear progression plans, and career growth.

All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
