Job description

The Corrugated Sourcing Specialist is responsible for spearheading the sourcing and quoting of corrugated packaging products for the sales team, ensuring competitive pricing and high-quality materials. This role involves managing multiple projects, building relationships with vendors, and maintaining an expert-level knowledge of product offerings. The successful candidate will work closely with the Customer Service department to support the realization of price quotations and bids, while continuously seeking out new sourcing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the sourcing and quoting of corrugated packaging products for the sales team, ensuring timely and accurate pricing.
  • Prepare and manage price quotations, bids, and customer-specific pricing.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Analyze data to identify potential suppliers, new sources, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to ensure price quotations and bids are accurately realized.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of corrugated packaging products and market trends.
  • Manage and foster strong relationships with sales teams and vendors, ensuring alignment with sourcing objectives.
  • Seek and qualify new vendors in both existing and new markets to diversify sourcing options.
  • Oversee the management of the quote system and customer pricing databases, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage the customer sample and trial product process, coordinating with sales and vendors as needed.
  • Deliver monthly reporting on sourcing activities, vendor performance, and pricing trends to both vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct vendor visits as needed to strengthen relationships and assess supplier capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis to identify trends and sourcing opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working closely with sales and customer service teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and experience with ERP or quoting systems.
  • Willingness to travel to vendor locations as needed.
