Job description

The Industrial Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Sales Team in identifying and securing industrial packaging opportunities. This role is critical in providing timely and efficient industrial quotes, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring competitive cost structures. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Embrace and uphold Premier Packaging's Mission Statement and Values in all tasks.
  • Provide accurate and timely industrial quotes to the Sales Team.
  • Organize and delegate industrial opportunities to the appropriate resources.
  • Maintain and update the Industrial Quote Log.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with vendors, ensuring strong communication and collaboration.
  • Continuously learn about new and existing industrial products and understand their application.
  • Train and develop new team members to work independently and think creatively.
  • Manage sample requests from Sales Representatives.
  • Run reports, including inventory, customer items, margin reports, sales by customer, and vendor reports.
  • Understand and analyze the impact of freight and warehousing on product costs.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of competitive costs for industrial products and leverage creativity to maximize margins.
  • Maintain organization of vendor contact information and files, including price sheets and data sheets.
  • Communicate vendor price increases and other critical updates to the Industrial Sourcing Manager.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing/Customer Service Representatives (CSR) to ensure timely updates on quotes.
  • Become proficient in ASI/Jasper systems for navigating sourcing information.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; B.S./B.A. in a business-related field preferred.
  • Previous sourcing experience in an industrial setting is required.
  • Ability to manage a workload while handling multiple distractions and competing priorities.
  • High sense of urgency and adaptability in managing multiple projects.
  • Strong inquisitiveness and desire to learn continuously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and customer relationship skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with ASI/Jasper systems is a plus.
