Job description

The Operations Manager is responsible for the success of day-to-day operations for TransWest personnel, fleet and operational processes.  They will coordinate, facilitate and report on operational performance, safety performance and company policy adherence while planning, leading and executing process improvement initiatives. The Location Manager will need to work in partnership with multiple departments to ensure accuracy in all operational verticals.    

Compensation:

  • $95,000 - $115,000 / Year 
  • Annual Discretionary Bonus Program

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, plan, and execute operational plans for current and new service lines, including schedules, routes, vehicle and driver assignments, training, back-end tool set up (online software, WIFI, GPS tracking etc..) and all other aspects relating to operational success. Ensure all shifts are filled daily without exception. Work closely with our Program Management Team and Scheduling Team to ensure alignment and to ensure we are delivering a high quality service. 
  • Monitor shuttle operation's data for efficiency; identify issues of poor operational performance and notify local leadership as needed. Work with staff, Supervisors and the Senior Operations Manager to identify areas of improvement and develop plans to improve efficiencies and maintain preferred results. 
  • Prepare standard reports weekly, monthly or as requested and develop tracking systems, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and other operational data as necessary. Enter data from manual operations reports, invoices or other sources into existing databases or other tracking tools. 
  • Based on the KPI's, manage the Driver Score Cards incentive program and assist with the accurate measurement of driver success. Partner with Supervisors to ensure the correct follow up of driver successes and opportunities in relation to the KPIs and score cards. 
  • Develop and train Senior Supervisors and Supervisors through coaching, counseling and field time to better empower and develop front line leaders. Develop a succession plan for each division to ensure continuity of operations. 
  • Update and maintain online tools to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. 
  • Develop content for monthly staff safety meetings for all divisions. Work with Supervisors, Training Managers and Compliance to create meeting agendas, training concepts and review of operational division performance. Keep monthly records of meeting notes and attendance. 
  • Develop training content for Drivers and Supervisors. As needed, train drivers on new and existing routes. 
  • Lead a functional group or division, providing strategic direction and overseeing overall performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of supervisory or management experience or equivalent Transportation experience 
  • Bachelor's level degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Experience working in transportation or logistical environment 
  • Must be at least 25 years of age to meet CDL requirements 
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record 
  • Ability to be flexible in schedule to meet operational needs. This may require occasionally working outside of regularly scheduled hours
