Description

DAZN is seeking an experienced and visionary Creative Lead / Creative Director to support our growing U.S. business, focusing on the launch of regional NBA and NHL local broadcast rights. They will lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns, “Always on” activity, in-stadium advertising, local activations, and creative platform support. Working closely with our department leadership in Sydney & London, this role will oversee the strategic and creative execution of multi-platform campaigns designed to drive audience engagement, subscriber growth, brand affinity, and viewership across broadcast, streaming, digital, social, and traditional media channels.

The ideal candidate will combine exceptional creative leadership with a deep understanding of sports fandom, athlete storytelling, and the regional dynamics that make local sports audiences passionate and engaged. They will collaborate closely with internal marketing, programming, production, social media, partnerships, as well as external agency partners and league stakeholders to create compelling campaigns that elevate team, league, and network brands.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000

This role is based in New York, mostly on site from our Park Avenue South office.

What You'll Be Doing: Creative Leadership
  • Be a key senior leader in DAZN’s internal global creative agency, Balboa Global.
  • Lead the creative vision and execution of marketing campaigns supporting NBA and NHL regional rights portfolios in market.
  • Develop innovative campaign concepts that drive brand awareness, tune-in, fan engagement, subscription acquisition, and retention.
  • Ensure consistent brand storytelling across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Translate business objectives into compelling creative strategies and audience-focused campaigns
Campaign Development
  • Oversee end-to-end development of integrated marketing initiatives, including:
    Season launches, Rivalry and marquee matchups, Playoff campaigns, Streaming and subscription promotions, Community and fan engagement initiatives, Sponsorship and partnership activations, Create campaign frameworks adaptable across multiple regional markets while maintaining local relevance.
Content & Asset Production
  • Direct the creation of creative assets across: Broadcast promotions, Video and motion graphics, Social media content, Digital advertising, Out-of-home advertising, Radio, CRM and email marketing, Experiential and event branding
  • Partner with internal production teams, agencies, designers, editors, and freelancers to deliver high-quality creative work.
Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers, copywriters, producers, editors, and creative managers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and creative excellence.
  • Establish creative standards, workflows, and quality control processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner closely with marketing, programming, media, partnerships, sales, social media, and analytics teams.
  • Serve as the primary creative lead in discussions with league partners, team representatives, and rights holders.
  • Present creative concepts and campaign strategies to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Performance & Optimization
  • Utilize audience insights, performance metrics, and fan behaviour data to inform creative decision-making.
  • Continuously optimize campaign effectiveness through testing, measurement, and post-campaign analysis.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in sports marketing, digital media, fan engagement, and content consumption.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Design, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of creative leadership experience in sports, entertainment, media, streaming, or consumer brands.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative thinking, storytelling, and brand-building capabilities. Experience managing and developing high-performing creative teams.
  • Deep understanding of sports culture, fan engagement, and live-event marketing.
  • Expertise across video, digital, social, broadcast, and traditional creative channels.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
