Job description

Bumble's Creative Studio is an exciting inflection point, supporting Bumble Inc.'s portfolio of apps globally. We’re looking to hire  a seasoned  Creative Director who will partner with our CEO/Founder, Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing leadership to contribute their storytelling skills to bring equality to millions of relationships. As Creative Director, You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop highly effective creative work  that  translates visions into bold and effective work across brand initiatives.

The Creative Director will work to support internal leaders across marketing, media, product, and partnerships. This will be a hands-on role translating internal “client” objectives into clear, executable strategies, while leading and inspiring an evolving internal Creative team and partnering with external agencies. You should have a relentless work ethic, unmatched storytelling skills, and a deep background managing teams, delivering against client briefs and strategic objectives. This role will report to our Chief Marketing Officer and act as a key partner to them.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the creative function

  • Bring a strong and informed decision on what effective creative looks like at each stage of the funnel and translate  high-level ideas and inspiration into clear, bold, executable creative strategies.

  • Steward Brand Identity and creative guidelines across multiple markets.

  • Challenge briefs and proactively drive the creative work forward to improve quality, bringing diverse stakeholders on the journey with you.

  • Act as a key partner to the CEO, who will lead on brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas that can become impactful executions. You will play a pivotal role in elevating the creative ideation and campaign development to the next level.

  • Lead the team by example by being on the tools creating the work yourself, as well as reviewing the work of others.

  • Partner with internal teams and agency resources to drive high-quality creative work that is aligned with strategic goals and timelines.

  • Oversee and manage creative team projects supporting marketing, partnership, experiential, and digital activations, driving impactful growth. 

  • Lead the team to deliver creative excellence from ideation to production, ensuring adherence to requested deliverables, timelines and budgets.

  • Manage, motivate and mentor team members to perform highly and grow professionally.

  • Be extremely adaptable as Bumble evolves over time and enthusiastically champion innovation throughout the team.

About You

  • 10+ years of Creative experience: Ideally the candidate will be from a design or copy background with exceptional craft skills, but also be able to create brilliant conceptual ideas. 

  • Strong leadership skills with a high level of emotional intelligence to inspire and manage creative teams in dynamic environments.

  • You have great communication skills, both verbal and written, and are confident presenting and explaining your creative decisions to stakeholders.   

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Fluent in the full design process—from research to strategy to implementation—and comfortable leading teams through it

  • Experience introducing new tools, processes, workflows or technologies to improve creative output

  • You have an expert command of creative tools: Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, and embracing the future; you're comfortable exploring emerging tools, and leveraging AI to help drive efficiencies.

  • Solid knowledge of motion principles and best practices.

  • Solid understanding of the digital, video, social, and content space

  • History of successful delivery of impactful creative on time and within budget

  • Must be able to work cross-functionally across multiple departments and across time zones

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and creatively demanding environment

  • You have excellent time management skills, strong organisational skills and great attention to detail, ensuring our work always communicates clearly and is on brand.

  • Enthusiasm for balancing many projects at the same time under tight deadlines and production schedules

  • Deep understanding and love of popular culture
