Job description

Pennsylvania Place is expanding! We are seeking a passionate Memory Care Nurse Specialist (RN or LPN) to join our growing nursing team. In this specialized role, you will champion the quality of life and clinical care for our residents, providing dedicated oversight for our intimate, 16-unit memory care neighborhood.

This position blends clinical evaluation with creative programming. You will be the driving force behind our dementia training, therapeutic program development, and individualized resident service plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Neighborhood Oversight: Manage daily clinical flow and care quality for a 16-unit memory care community.
  • Programming & Training: Design, implement, and oversee specialized dementia care programming; lead and train staff on dementia best practices and behavioral interventions.
  • Assessments & Service Plans: Evaluate new and current residents to develop, update, and implement comprehensive, individualized service plans.
  • Collaboration: Serve as the core communicator between residents, families, medical partners, and care teams.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support risk management operations for assisted living and memory care residents.

Qualifications

  • License: Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the State of Iowa.
  • Experience: Deep understanding of dementia, Alzheimer’s, and related memory disorders (prior experience in a memory care setting strongly preferred).
  • Core Skills: Exceptional critical thinking, clinical evaluation capabilities, and strong verbal/written communication skills.
