Job description

Description:Five Star Franchising

Director of Consumer & Brand Strategy
Location: Springville, UT
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Senior Vice President of Marketing

Company Overview

Five Star Franchising is a fast-growing organization leading multiple national brands across home services, restoration, and celebrations. Our mission is to help franchise owners thrive by delivering best-in-class marketing, operations, and business support that drive profitable growth and remarkable customer experiences.

We live our DRIVE values — Driven, Real, Enthusiastic, Innovative, Vital — combining bold thinking with flawless execution. We move fast, stay accountable, and care deeply about results and people.

Position Summary

The Director of Consumer & Brand Strategy will serve as the strategic brand lead across Five Star Franchising’s portfolio, responsible for strengthening brand positioning, consumer understanding, messaging strategy, media direction, and overall brand effectiveness.

This role is designed for a classically trained brand marketer — ideally from CPG, consumer services, retail, or highly strategic brand organizations — who brings a strong foundation in consumer insight, brand management, media planning, and business performance ownership.

Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, this role will partner cross-functionally with brand teams, marketing directors, agencies, franchisees, and Presidents to sharpen positioning, improve marketing effectiveness, and drive profitable growth across the portfolio.

This is not a Creative Director or production-focused role. Candidates should have formal experience owning brand strategy, consumer positioning, media planning, and business performance — not solely creative development, design leadership, or production execution.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and drive brand positioning, architecture, and voice across multiple brands.
  • Lead brand planning with clear objectives, strategies, and KPIs.
  • Advocate for consumer-first strategy, leveraging data and insights to guide decisions.

Media & Agency Management

  • Guide brand strategy, messaging, media direction and creative effectiveness across TV, OTT, digital, and social campaigns.
  • Manage relationships with media, digital, and creative agencies; ensure alignment to brand vision and performance goals.
  • Oversee paid media strategy, creative briefing, testing, and optimization.

Consumer Insights & Analytics

  • Own the consumer portrait; mine data to guide creative, messaging, and media planning.
  • Translate insights into actionable strategies that improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Monitor ROI, campaign performance, and media efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution

  • Partner with internal teams and franchisees to align marketing activity with growth goals.
  • Establish KPI dashboards and reporting to track marketing and brand health.
  • Ensure execution excellence and measurable impact across all initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years in brand management, preferably within CPG, consumer services, retail, or highly strategic brand organizations.
  • Candidates should have formal experience owning brand strategy, consumer positioning, media planning, and business performance - not solely creative development or design leadership.
  • Strong business and analytical mindset with experience leveraging consumer insights, market data, and performance metrics to drive brand and revenue growth.
  • Experience working within highly matrixed or cross-functional organizations preferred.
  • Proven success managing agencies and leading cross-functional projects.
  • Analytical, insight-driven, and skilled in storytelling and executive influence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Franchise, multi-brand, or performance-marketing experience is a plus.
Why Join Five Star Franchising
  • Lead brand strategy for high-growth, nationally recognized consumer brands.
  • Balance creative excellence with data-driven performance.
  • Join a collaborative, results-focused marketing team redefining franchise marketing.
