Your New Role...
WB Pictures is seeking a Director, Creative Development to help identify, develop, and shepherd feature film projects from concept through production. This role will serve as a key creative and strategic partner to filmmakers, writers, producers, agents, and internal stakeholders, helping to shape a dynamic and commercially compelling slate of films aligned with the studio's overall vision.
The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with sharp editorial judgment, a deep understanding of the theatrical marketplace, and the ability to build trusted relationships across the entertainment community. They should be highly collaborative, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Source, evaluate, and develop feature film material including original pitches, scripts, books, articles, and other underlying IP.
  • Provide thoughtful and actionable creative feedback on scripts, outlines, treatments, decks, and filmmaker presentations.
  • Identify emerging writers, directors, producers, and creative voices that align with the studio's evolving slate strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, managers, producers, talent, and filmmakers across the industry.
  • Partner closely with Production, Marketing, Distribution, Business Affairs, Legal, and Finance teams throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Track marketplace trends, competitive projects, talent availability, and audience interests to inform development strategy.
  • Prepare and present coverage, project updates, talent assessments, and development recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Attend pitches, screenings, and industry events as needed.
  • Manage multiple active projects simultaneously, ensuring momentum and alignment across creative and production timelines.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on slate planning and long-term creative priorities.
  • Mentor and support junior creative staff and assistants as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience...
  • 5+ years of experience in creative development at a studio, streamer, or production company, with at least 1-2 years at the coordinator or manager level.
  • Strong creative taste and editorial instincts with a demonstrated ability to identify commercially viable and culturally resonant material.
  • Deep knowledge of the theatrical film landscape, talent ecosystem, and current industry trends.
  • Experience developing projects from early concept through production.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including script coverage and presentation abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proven relationship-building skills and an established network within the entertainment community.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of filmmakers, audiences, and emerging creative voices.
  • Ability to work onsite in Burbank.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $104,996.00 - $194,992.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
