Manager, Creative Director - Retail Bank
Capital One is looking for an innovative creative leader with a history of results and a modern, elevated portfolio. This role will support brand building and performance marketing for our Retail Bank and Café teams. Based on your experience, you will either lead our site team or integrated campaigns across a range of channels including email, web, direct mail, paid digital, video, and out of home. You'll use your digital or omni-channel creative skills and exceptional taste to support a broad set of marketing and creative needs. What you'll do:
  • Lead and inspire the team to develop strategically-grounded, insight-driven creative.
  • Manage creative talent (Art Directors, Graphic Designers and Copywriters) including a mix of full-time associates, contractors, and agencies.
  • Empower and inspire full-time associates through coaching, and help them develop in their careers.
  • Collaborate with marketing strategists and internal business clients to understand customer needs, positively influencing marketing strategy and the customer experience.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of advertising and marketing trends and translate business intent into creative strategies and executions that market products effectively.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the intended audience; interprets market research and tests results, and uses findings to focus targeted marketing messages.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a network of partner groups (digital, operations, legal, etc.) to anticipate and proactively address obstacles and establish Brand Creative as a strategic thought partner.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience leading creative teams
  • At least 5 years of experience with creative design tools including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite and Figma

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of experience directly leading creative teams
  • Experience at a large in-house creative team
  • Experience working with a Fortune 100 brand
  • Experience storyboarding, sketching or wireframing CX and UI/UX
  • Experience with premarket and in market testing tools
  • Experience leveraging GAI, personalization and optimization tools in creative development and marketing

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Creative
Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Creative
New York, NY: $165,700 - $189,200 for Manager, Creative
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
