Job description

The Creative Technologist is a senior individual contributor role within Brand Scale, the technology-enabled production and innovation engine of the AWS Brand & Creative organization. This role sits at the intersection of creative craft, emerging technology, and production systems.
AWS is the world's largest cloud provider and one of the most recognized technology brands on the planet. The Brand Scale team has access to tools, platforms, and capabilities that most creative organizations can only read about, and we are at the beginning of figuring out how to use them well

The team, the operating model, the technology stack, and the ways of working are not inherited. They are being designed.
This is not a traditional creative role, and it is not a traditional technology role. It is a role for someone who is fluent in both, and who finds the space between them to be the most interesting place to work.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate for this role has spent their career refusing to choose between being creative and being technical and has built a body of work that proves you don't have to

You are as comfortable in a creative review as you are in a workflow design session. You hold opinions about craft and quality, and you hold those opinions even when the tool doing the work is AI.
You are energized by the pace of change in creative technology, and you bring that energy to the people around you. You are not here to replace human creativity

You are here to make it go further.
Key job responsibilities
Creative Technology & Agentic Workflow Development
- Collaborate with Marketing Technology and AI team on designing, building, and governing agentic creative workflows that enable the AWS Marketing team to produce brand-compliant assets at speed and scale
- Identify where generative AI, automation, and agentic tools can reduce repetitive production burden - and where human creative judgment must remain in the loop
- Partner with the Marketing Technology teams to pilot and evaluate emerging creative technology platforms (generative AI, content automation, dynamic creative optimization) before broader organizational adoption
- Define and document prompt engineering standards, AI output review protocols, and brand compliance guardrails for AI-generated creative
Creative Production & Execution
- Contribute directly to creative production across formats - digital, motion, social, and campaign with a point of view on craft and brand integrity
- Serve as a senior creative resource on high-priority or technically complex production work, including campaigns, brand system extensions, and global activations
- Translate creative briefs from Brand Strategy and Creative Direction into production-ready executions, working alongside both human collaborators and agentic tools
- Maintain a high bar for quality in all outputs, AI-assisted or otherwise
Technology Stack Partnership
- Act as a primary business owner/counterpart from the brand creative team in working with Technology and AI to drive business requirements, process design, experimentation, and adoption
- Partner with the Technology function within AWS Marketing to evaluate, implement, and optimize the creative technology stack (DAM, GenAI platforms, content automation, templating systems)
- Define creative frameworks, template requirements, and modular asset system specifications, working with Technology team, that enable the broader team to produce at scale without sacrificing brand consistency"
- Govern AI usage within creative workflows, establishing clear standards for when and how AI tools are used, reviewed, and approved
Organizational Influence & Enablement
- Train and upskill creative and production colleagues on new tools, workflows, and agentic capabilities, acting as a force multiplier across the team
- Contribute to Brand Scale's role as the test-and-learn environment for creative technology in the AWS Brand & Creative team
- Bring a clear point of view to senior stakeholders on where creative technology is heading and what AWS should be investing in next
