Job description

Activities Assistant
Location: Gardens at Stevens
Position Type: Full-Time & Part-Time
Shift: Days with every other weekend and holiday required

Gardens at Stevens is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of our residents through engaging recreational, social, and emotional activities under the guidance of the Director of Activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the emotional, recreational, and social needs of residents are met on an individual basis.

  • Assist residents with everyday tasks such as writing letters, making phone calls, and registering to vote.

  • Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and participation in activities.

  • Support activities such as mail delivery, escorting residents to programs, plant and pet care, preparing newsletters, fundraising efforts, and making morning announcements.

  • Facilitate creative activities, including crafts, painting, and other projects that promote self-expression and engagement.

  • Carry out programs that foster entertainment, communication, relaxation, and opportunities for residents to explore their creative talents and fulfill social, psychological, and spiritual needs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Previous experience in long-term care or working with the elderly or disabled is desirable.

  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.
