Job description

As a Key Account Manager you will have the opportunity to to learn the Walmart and Sam’s operating model end to end, take ownership of defined workstreams in your first year, and progressively own more of the account as you grow. This is a developmental account management role supporting Walmart and Sam’s. The Key Account Manager will build fluency in the account model, support strategic initiatives, develop analytical and commercial skills, and progressively take on more ownership as the business scales.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by supporting the day-to-day execution of two of the most important accounts in our business..  The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.

So, what will you be doing as a Key Account Manager?

  • Support the Senior National Account Manager on strategic sales initiatives, including business cases, sales analytics, presentations, and select buyer-facing communications.
  • Analyze competitive landscape, promotional performance, and category share to surface insights and recommendations for the account team. Turn data into a story the NAM can take to the buyer.
  • Lead strategic projects on the account. Own one or two priority initiatives at a time, from problem definition through analysis, recommendation, and implementation.
  • Assist the NAM on forecast accuracy. Review forecast performance, identify risk and opportunity, and partner with Supply Chain and Demand Planning on improvements.
  • Partner with Brand Managers, Product Development, Marketing, and the broader account team to coordinate launch plans, promotional activity, and category strategy at Walmart and Sam's.
  • Coordinate strategic work with our Walmart and Sam's agency partner. Brief on sales strategy and priorities, review agency-produced insights and analysis, and bring agency outputs to the NAM with your recommendations.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a CPG, consumer goods, or retail account role. You bring strong learning agility and the curiosity to dig into new problems independently.
  • Strong analytical skills. Hands on Excel proficiency, comfort with financial modeling, and the ability to turn raw data into a business case the NAM can take to the buyer.
  • Excellent written and visual communication. You can distill complex information into a clear, compelling narrative, build a polished presentation, and craft buyer-ready output that lands.
  • Self-direction and project ownership. You can work independently, manage your own time, and drive projects from problem definition through implementation.
  • Versatility and a dynamic approach. You thrive in a fast-moving environment, shift fluidly between analysis, strategy, and execution, and adapt quickly as priorities and business needs evolve.
  • Organization and attention to detail. You juggle multiple workstreams, hit deadlines, and produce accurate, polished work under tight timelines.
  • A natural doer. You're a hands-on person who rolls up your sleeves, takes initiative and gets things done. Bias for action. You move quickly, prioritize what matters most, and follow through with clear accountability from start to finish.
