Job description

Job Summary

The Roofing Mechanic will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. 

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Roofing Installation and Repair:
    1. Responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and installation of residential roofing systems
    2. Be on time for all shifts and ready to go at the assigned time with all personal tools and PPE.
  2. Team Collaboration:
    1. Work collaboratively with other team members, including Foremen, Crew Members, Superintendents, General Superintendent and Contractors, to complete projects on time and within budget.
    2. Mentor less-experienced crew members. 
    3. Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients to coordinate project activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    1. Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
    2. Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as instructed.
    3. Complete required safety training such as fall protections or OSHA. 
  4. Quality Assurance:
    1. Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all roofing projects.
    2. Conduct quality inspections to verify that rooking systems meet established standards and specifications.
  5. Equipment Maintenance:
    1. Maintain and care for roofing tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
    2. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Roofer or Roofing Mechanic, with at least 5 years of relevant experience with specialty roofing applications.
  • Ability and comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Able to handle at least 50lbs

Preferred Skills

  • Sheet Metal, slate and/or tile experience.
  • First Aid/CPR
  • OSHA10 or OSHA30
