Job Overview Summaryย 

The Service Technician II - Swinging/ Roll Up Door Technician ย will work on site in Harrisonburg, VA and take on more advanced service and maintenance responsibilities, including managing complex troubleshooting and system upgrades. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise and the ability to handle challenging service scenarios as it relates to doors and operators

What you'll be doing (and doing well!):
  • Execute advanced maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for doors and operators, including integration with safety and security systems and repairs
  • Lead service calls for complex door issues and provide expert solutions to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Perform system upgrades and modifications based on client needs and technology advancements.
  • Mentor and assist Service Technician I in troubleshooting and service tasks.
  • Develop and implement best practices for system maintenance and service efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of service activities, system changes, and client interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Lead an annual PM related to NFPA 80 and its application for swinging, overhead, and high-speed door operators
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.ย

What we Like about you:
  • A Sense of humor, creativity, and positive attitude
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in electronics or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in servicing/ installing swinging, overhead, and high speed roll up door operators with demonstrated expertise in advanced troubleshooting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of door operators (swinging and roll up) and integration with safety and security systems.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn on the fly and be technically proficient
  • Ability to mentor and support less experienced technicians.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with high-security or large-scale security systems.
Physical Activities/Demands:
  • Able to safely work at heights on ladders and aerial lifts
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time and complete overhead work for long periods of time.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of which you are applying and have the ability to meet our company driving standards.

Pay Transparency Statement

The base pay range for this role is $25.75 - $40.25 hourly. This position may have overtime available. Note that wage may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base wage as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
